The new iPhone 15 models are expected to be unveiled in September this year. After we have already seen renders of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 15 Plus now appears on the scene.
Renders show modified design of the iPhone 15 Plus
Like the previous renders, these images of the iPhone 15 Plus were created from CAD files. This one has 9to5Mac received and converted to these renders. This gives us a better idea of ​​what the larger version of the standard model will look like.
So where do these CAD files come from? These have been shared by Apple with partners in the supply chain so that the latter can prepare for the launch of a new iPhone model. The files reveal the exact details of the phone, both in terms of dimensions and design of the final device.
iPhone 14 Plus vs iPhone 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 Plus looks a lot like what we’ve already seen on the renders of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 Plus will also receive a Dynamic Island (limited to the Pro models on the iPhone 14), USB-C and a thinner bezel around the display.
The documents also reveal the dimensions of the iPhone 15 Plus, which are 160.87mm x 77.76mm x 7.81mm (HxWxD). For comparison, the current iPhone 14 Plus measures 160.84 x 78.07mm x 7.79mm (HxWxD). Apple will probably adjust the dimensions minimally. There is also talk that the camera island on the back will protrude a little more from the housing than on the predecessor. This indicates adjustments to the camera system.
New frame design
The iPhone 15 Plus – like the rest of the iPhone 15 family – has a new frame design with slightly rounded edges. This ensures a less hard transition from the front of the device to the back and probably ensures that the phone is a bit nicer to hold.
We still have to wait a few months for Apple to actually announce the iPhone 15 (Pro). We are currently expecting September. But bet that another render of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will appear soon.
