The iPhone 15 Pro has been officially announced and, as expected, has a titanium casing. This is what you need to know about the new design!
iPhone 15 Pro: new titanium casing
The iPhone 15 Pro has finally been unveiled! Apple’s new top device has many new features, including a completely new action button and an improved camera. The phone runs on the new A17 Pro chip, the first processor that Apple has manufactured with the new 3nm technology. The iPhone 15 has received a significant update on the inside, but the titanium casing is also new!

The iPhone 15 Pro (Max) is Apple’s first phone with a titanium casing. This is an extremely strong material, which gives the iPhone 15 Pro much better protection against scratches and other damage. The edge of the device is made of a titanium band, the back is still made of glass. This means that the chance of damage is much lower if you drop the iPhone. But there are more benefits!

Lightest iPhone Pro ever
Titanium is an extremely sturdy material, but is also extremely light. This makes the iPhone 15 Pro weigh much less than the iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro weighs only 187 grams, while the iPhone 14 Pro weighs 206 grams. This means that the new iPhone is a lot less heavy and therefore much more comfortable to hold.
The same applies to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the device weighs only 221 grams due to the new titanium casing. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max this weight was still 240 grams, which means that both Pro models are approximately 20 grams lighter this year. You will immediately notice this difference when you hold the devices. The new iPhones are also much nicer to hold due to the rounded corners.

What is Grade 5 Titanium?
Titanium is a lightweight but super strong metal often used in aerospace and medical equipment. Apple also uses so-called Grade 5 Titanium.
‘Grade 5’ stands for a kind of VIP version of titanium, also known as Ti-6Al-4V. In addition to titanium, this special mix also contains a touch of aluminum and vanadium. This cocktail of elements not only makes the material resistant to rust, but also much stronger than pure titanium. That’s why you also see it in space projects. Apple gave the Mars Rover as an example where this metal is used.
This is when the new iPhones will appear
The new titanium casing of the iPhone 15 Pro therefore has a large number of advantages. Are you planning to buy the new iPhone? Then you’ll have to wait a little longer, because the pre-order starts this Friday. The official release of the iPhone 15 is a week later, on Friday September 22 the phone will then appear in stores. If you have already ordered the device, that is also the day it will be delivered to your home.
