The iPhone 16 will be released on Monday, September 9 during the Apple event and these are the top reasons to switch from an iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 vs iPhone 16
The iPhone 16 obviously has a lot of improvements compared to the iPhone 15. Some of them may be a reason to switch. We list the most important ones for you.

1. Apple Intelligence
This is probably the most important reason to switch to the iPhone 16. If you want to use Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, an iPhone 15 with iOS 18 is of no use to you. Only the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and the iPhone 16 series support Apple’s new AI features.
Apple Intelligence provides many new features, such as writing texts, creating summaries, and editing and generating images. There are reports that Apple Intelligence will not be available in the EU for the time being, but Apple is trying to prevent this.

2. Improved camera
The iPhone 16’s main camera remains the same as iPhone 15’s, but the Ultra Wide camera gets a wider aperture of f/2.2 (up from f/2.4 on the iPhone 15). This improves low-light performance. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may also support macro photography for the first time, a feature that’s currently exclusive to the Pro models.

3. A capture button
Apple is introducing a capture button on the iPhone 16. This button is designed exclusively for use with camera apps, and works much like the shutter button on a camera. Users will likely be able to choose which camera app the button opens, including third-party apps. There’s also a new image format coming called JPEG-XL. This joins HEIF, JPEG, HEIF Max, ProRaw and ProRAW Max.

4. An action button
We’re familiar with the action button from the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it’s expected that the button will come to all iPhone 16 models this year. You can choose which function you assign to the action button
Apple gives you a choice of nine functions, you choose which action is performed when you press the button. So far, you can only link one function to the button, but it is possible that this will change with the new iPhones. In addition, with the Shortcuts app you can link almost any action to the button.

5. New colours
Like every year, Apple introduces a series of new colors for the iPhone. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will probably come in black, green, pink, blue and white. The iPhone 15 (Plus) is available in black, green, pink, blue and yellow. Although yellow is the only new color in this comparison, the colors that have the same name now look different. Whether the color is a reason to switch from the iPhone 15 to the iPhone 16 is of course very personal.
Conclusion: iPhone 15 vs iPhone 16
If you are planning to switch from an iPhone 15 to an iPhone 16, it is probably for one or more of the reasons we mention here. Of course, that does not mean that they are reasons for everyone to switch, but hopefully they make the choice easier.
