The release of the next iPhone is getting closer, but when is the iPhone 16 event? Here’s when Apple announces the date!
iPhone 16 is coming
In less than a month, Apple will present the iPhone 16. This year, there will be four new iPhones again with the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple usually reveals the new generation of the phone at a major event in September. This always happens in the second week of that month, so the date of the iPhone 16 event is expected to be Tuesday September 10th is.
However, that is not entirely certain, because Apple has not yet officially announced the event. Where the annual WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) the date is known months in advance, Apple is waiting much longer for the iPhone 16 event. Apple usually reveals the date of the event two or three weeks before the release of the new iPhone. That means we don’t have to wait much longer.
iPhone 16 Event Announcement
It seems almost certain that the iPhone 16 event will take place on Tuesday, September 10, but it will only be certain once Apple makes the announcement. Looking back at previous years, Apple will probably send out the invite to the event soon. In 2023, Apple announced the iPhone event on August 29, with the iPhone 15 being unveiled on September 12.
A year earlier, the invitation came on August 24, and the presentation of the iPhone 14 followed on September 7. In 2021 and 2020, Apple was even later, when the events were only announced on September 7 and 8. The presentations of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 took place not much later, on September 14 and 15. It is expected that Apple will announce the iPhone 16 event two weeks in advance, as has happened in recent years.

Apple is likely to send out iPhone 16 event invites around August 27, 2024the official presentation will follow on Tuesday, September 10. Then we will know for sure on which date the iPhone 16 will be shown and which functions will come to the phone. The iPhone 16 (Plus) will have an A18 chip, a renewed camera island, an action button and new Capture Button expected.
The iPhone 16 Pro (Max) will get a larger screen, improved camera and a custom titanium casing. In addition, Apple Intelligence will probably come to all new iPhones of this year.
