iPhone 16 (Pro) is out
The new 2024 iPhones have been available in stores since last week. On Friday, September 20, sales of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max started. Apple has released the new iPhones in a number of cool colors, as it does every year. In addition, the housing of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max has been customized. iPhone 16 (Plus): Striking colours
Apple has made a number of small changes to the design of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The colours of the regular iPhones are striking this year. You can choose from white, black, ultramarine, blue-green and pink for the iPhone 16 (Plus). We have not seen ultramarine and blue-green on the iPhone before, with the former colour being particularly striking.
Apple has made few changes to the design of the iPhone 16 (Plus). The phone once again has an aluminum casing, just like the iPhone 15 (Plus). We do see changes on the sides, because the phone now has the action button and camera controller. On the back of the iPhone 16 (Plus), the lenses are placed directly under each other, making the camera island a lot narrower.
iPhone 16 Pro (Max): bigger and shiny
With the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max we see – literally – big changes in the design. Apple has adjusted the size of the devices, the Pro models are larger than the ‘normal’ iPhones this year. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, with the iPhone 16 Pro Max it is even 6.9 inches. This makes the iPhone 16 Pro Max the largest iPhone that Apple has ever made.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have a titanium casing, but the finish is different than what we saw on the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). Apple has opted for a polished finish this year, giving the iPhone 16 Pro (Max) a glossy design. You can choose from white titanium, black titanium, gray titanium and desert titanium for this year’s Pro models. The latter is a sort of gold color, which we have had to miss on the iPhone for a long time.

With the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple has also placed the camera control below the lock button. This is in the same place as on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. This year, there is no longer a difference between the buttons on the regular iPhones and the Pro models. Furthermore, all models are equipped with an improved screen, because the Ceramic Shield is stronger than before.
