It is expected that Apple will increase the starting prices of the new iPhones, making almost all models more expensive. The prices rise by around 50 euros, so you will probably lose 1019 euros for the ‘normal’ iPhone 17. With the PRO models, those prices are even higher.
Where you now pay 1,229 euros for the iPhone 16 Pro at Apple, it is said to be 1,279 euros with the iPhone 17 Pro. Yet it is not only bad news that the iPhone 17 Pro is becoming more expensive. According to rumors you get more storage space with the iPhone 17 Pro, than we saw earlier with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. You therefore pay more, but you also get more back for your money.
More storage space
Do you have to free up storage space on your iPhone? That is no longer a problem with the iPhone 17 Pro, because the phone is supplied as standard with 256 GB of storage space. With the iPhone 16 Pro that is still 128 GB, so the storage space at the entry model of the iPhone 17 Pro is doubled. The fact that the iPhone 17 Pro is more expensive also has an advantage, because you get more storage space as standard.
Previous rumors predicted that the storage space at the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max would be extended to 2 TB. That plan now seems to be gone, so that you can choose from three versions with the PRO models. You can choose 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage space. These are already the only options with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but that also applies to the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max next month.
Release of the iPhone 17 Pro
Where you can still opt for 128 GB with the iPhone 16 Pro, this option falls with the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air remain available with 128 GB of storage space, despite the expected price increases. We don’t have to wait long for this year’s new iPhones, because Apple will already present the iPhone 17 in a few weeks.
