iPhone 18 Pro (Max) color
It has been a while since Apple released the iPhone 17 series, so we can slowly look at the new iPhones of 2026. This year the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max are planned. Traditionally, Apple not only provides the iPhones with a new processor, but also releases the devices in new colors. This is no different with the iPhone 18 Pro (Max), which, according to new rumors, will appear in a special color.
According to the usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a red version of the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. That would be a striking choice by Apple, because never before has a Pro model appeared in a red color. Red versions of regular iPhones have regularly been released, the iPhone 14 was the last iPhone in this color. This year we will finally see a red iPhone again.
Striking colors popular
Good news if you are planning to get the iPhone 18 Pro or the iPhone 18 Pro Max, because the devices appear in a special color. Where Apple previously only brought striking colors to the regular iPhones, this will change in 2025 with the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Pro models are available in silver, deep blue and cosmic orange versions.
The latter is a bright orange color, which is much more popular than expected. The orange iPhone 17 Pro (Max) is a great success, especially in China. This success is reason enough for Apple to also release the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max in a striking color. It is still unclear whether the red version is a replacement for cosmic orange, or whether you will soon be able to get the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) in both colors. Other expected colors include purple and coffee brown on the 2026 Pro models.

So there is a good chance that Apple will release a red iPhone for the first time this year in September. Previously, red versions of iPhones appeared in the spring, in addition to the existing colors. It is still unclear which red shade Apple will choose for the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. After the success of the bright orange version, a bright red iPhone 18 Pro (Max) seems a logical choice.
In addition to the striking color, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max get the new A20 Pro chip and an improved camera.
