The iPhone SE 2022 looks a lot like the iPhone SE 2020 on the outside, but a lot has been adjusted under the hood. For example, the iPhone SE 2022 has a fast A15 Bionic processor (which you know from the iPhone 13) and support for 5G. However, the iPhone SE 2022 has more innovations that you don’t always read much about: these are the details you didn’t know yet!
iPhone SE 2022 colors: minor differences
At first glance, the colors of the iPhone SE 2022 resemble those of the iPhone SE 2020. However, there is a slight difference, because the iPhone SE 2022 is available in the colors midnight, starlight and (PRODUCT)RED. You may think they are the same colors of the iPhone SE 2020: black, white and red. That’s not entirely true, though, as starlight is slightly more creamy and midnight slightly less black.
The camera is five years old, but better
We see one of the other details of the iPhone SE 2022 at the camera. She is secretly five years old. The sensor is in fact the same as the one in the iPhone 8. Why does the iPhone SE 2022 take better photos than the old iPhone 8? That’s because of the A15 chip.
You now have access to the photographic styles with the iPhone SE 2022 (just like with the iPhone 13). These are a kind of filters that you can use on your photos, and take into account, among other things, the skin color or the sky.
In addition, the iPhone SE 2022 also has HDR 4. This combines multiple images of a photo. This will give you a better end result.
iPhone SE 2022 housing: glass of the iPhone 13 (Pro)
During the first Apple event of 2022, Apple also said something about the glass from which the iPhone SE 2022 is made, more details are also known about that. It is in fact the same glass from which the back of the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 is made. According to Apple, this is the strongest glass in a smartphone. The rest of the iPhone SE 2022 is made of aluminum. Furthermore, iPhone SE 2022 is water and dust resistance (IP67).
Battery not adjusted: battery life is better
In addition to a lot of other hardware improvements, the iPhone SE 2022 also has a much better battery. The striking thing is in the details, because (probably) the battery of the iPhone SE 2022 does not have a larger capacity.
Thanks to the A15 Bionic chip and a little ‘Apple magic’, we managed to get just a little more battery life from the battery. For example, with the iPhone SE 2022 you can now stream 10 hours of video, with the iPhone SE 2020 this was still 8 hours.
