Do you have a Roomba? Or are you still hesitating to buy one? In both cases we have good news! The iRobot Roomba will soon be even better, because it can then be controlled with Siri.
iRobot Roomba: coming soon with Siri
Soon it will be possible to control every Roomba and Braava mopping robot via your iPhone with Siri. This makes it even easier to use your help in the household. Until recently, you were dependent on the Assignments app and IFTTT (If This Then That). It was possible to use voice commands with this, but you had to dig into it a bit to get it all working nicely.

Fortunately, that will no longer be necessary. The update makes it easier to command your Roomba from iRobot with Siri. This can be a simple command, such as ‘start vacuuming’, but around the summer it is also possible to give really specific commands. For example, consider cleaning a specific room or at a specific time.
More New Features: Parental Lock & Do Not Disturb
Another feature will be added soon: do not disturb. This prevents the vacuum cleaner robot from cleaning when you just don’t want to. There is also a special child lock (also for animals) that ensures that they cannot accidentally press the Roomba’s start button.
Review iRobot Roomba j7+
We recently wrote in a review of the iRobot Roomba j7+ that the vacuum cleaner is easy to use and maintenance-friendly. We were disappointed that there was no automatic support for Siri. That will now change, when the iRobot Roomba receives support for Siri with the update in the coming summer.
