The puzzle game Wordle, which now opens daily on many laptops and iPhones, has been acquired by the New York Times. Unfortunately, Wordle doesn’t have a full iOS app yet. But don’t we know this game from somewhere?
New York Times buys Wordle
The popular puzzle game wordle may well be the next hit in the vein of Among Us, Pokemon Go and Flappy Bird. In this simple word-guessing game, your stress level is only less high than with the latter. Wordle is the perfect game for lovers of Wordfeud or any sudoku. The media group also thought this The New York Times, who bought this game to complement their acclaimed puzzle portfolio. Hopefully the American newspaper will soon bring Wordle to the iOS App Store and therefore as an official app on your iPhone.
Wordle iOS: When will we see the app on iPhone?
We’re sorry that Wordle hasn’t officially released for the iPhone yet, but it’s already playable via Safari. We think the newspaper will add it to their official soon puzzle app. This iOS app includes all the newspaper’s famous daily crossword puzzles. We also hope that the New York Times will publish the game in the Dutch language in the future. Wordle is now officially only available in English.
What is Wordle puzzle game?
The above image of Wordle’s gameplay brings back a vague memory. We already have this in the Netherlands in the form of Lingo. Wordle, which indeed closely resembles the program that first appeared in 1989, is slightly different. This way you won’t be rushed by Nance through the game, but you have all the time in the world to guess the word of the day.
In fact, you have all day to guess a word with six attempts. The judgmental JP has also been replaced by a simple and elegant design. Yellow means that the letter is in the word, but not in the right place. A soft green box indicates that the letter is completely correct. This makes Wordle a perfect game for people with a short attention span, who would like to do puzzles in the train on their iPhone.
