Jeep Wrangler gets ‘half doors’

It had been in the air for a long time, but the Jeep Wrangler is now, like its predecessors, also available with ‘half doors’. The special doors are an accessory from the Mopar catalog.

Jeep supplied the Rubicon versions of both the three- and five-door Wrangler of the previous JK generation of the off-roader optionally with half-doors, which on the current model presented in 2017 have been characterized by absence to date. During the presentation of the current Wrangler, Jeep already hinted at the arrival of the striking half-doors without fixed window pillars and with plastic windows. Mopar has now added the special doors to its catalog.

Jeep Wrangler Half Doors

Anyone who ticks the Half Door option for their three- or five-door Wrangler Rubicon on the Mopar order list will, in principle, receive normal doors. The Half Door doors, which also have less sheet metal and thus improve all-round visibility, are “conveniently packaged in the car itself.” Thanks to the relatively easy to unscrew the doors, you can install the optional ones in a jiffy yourself, according to Jeep. Good news: central locking simply works in combination with the Half Doors.

Jeep charges $ 2,350 for the Half Doors in the United States. For that amount you get two doors for the three-door Wrangler. Prefer four doors? Then you have lost just under 4,000 dollars. In addition to regular copies that are partly made of vinyl, there are also more expensive versions that are made of a nicer-looking acrylic.
