Apple releases iOS 26 Monday, September 15, 2025. On that date, the major update will come to your iPhone and CarPlay. New software versions often appear around 7 p.m. (Dutch time), at that time you can install iOS 26 on your iPhone. Have you updated your iPhone to iOS 26? The new software version then automatically appears in CarPlay, so that the operating system is completely renewed.
CarPlay gets new design
The most important change in iOS 26 is the new interface, with Apple Liquid Glass introducing. In the new design, many more elements are transparent and men’s men look like. You can also see that at the symbols of all applications in CarPlay, because you can adjust them for the first time. From iOS 26 you can choose from a standard, dark or clear display. The new Liquid Glass design is visible to the latter.

More new functions
With iOS 26, Apple brings a long -awaited function to CarPlay, because it is finally possible to play videos on the screen in the car.
