Almost every week, Karma now shows what is possible with its new E-flex platform. The base can be used for several types of cars: from autonomous vans to sports cars. The latter type is now being exposed.
Although the photos look very similar, Karma again shows a new piece of technology. This is namely Karma’s High Performance implementation of the E-flex Platform. This special version shows that the modular platform can handle multiple electric motors and that it is strong enough for a lot of power. Each wheel is fitted with an electric motor that together produces 1,100 hp. According to Karma, an electric sports car on this floor can sprint to 100 within 1.9 seconds.
The flat-floor battery is large enough for a range of up to 400 miles (644 km). “Our latest E-Flex platform is suitable for supercar configurations such as Karma’s SC2 concept car,” said Kevin Zhang, Chief Technology Officer at Karma.
This new variant of the E-Flex Platform is part of Karma’s modular floor that it wants to offer to other manufacturers of (partly) electric cars. Karma’s E-flex platform is already the basis for his Revero GT unveiled last year. “We will be showing more platform solutions from Karma in the coming months,” said Karma CEO Dr. Lance Zhou.
