The iPhone 13 series is not yet in the shops, but the rumor mill about the next generation of iPhones is already starting to get going. If we are to believe this rumor, the iPhone 14 will receive a number of significant camera upgrades.
iPhone 14 will have a notch-less screen
The iPhone 14 will have a hole in the screen for the selfie camera. So says well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Thanks to the arrival of the camera hole, the next iPhone will no longer have a notorious notch. Chances are, Apple will have a way to handle the sensors for Face ID below the display by then.
Another solution is a return of Touch ID. Many iPhone users have been hoping for a rebirth of Apple’s trusty fingerprint scanner for years. According to Kuo, however, we have to be patient for that; according to him, we won’t see Touch ID again until 2023.
Razor-sharp photos and videos
In addition to the disappearance of the notch, the iPhone 14 will also receive a significant camera upgrade, according to Kuo. For example, there would be a 48 megapixel camera on the back of the next iPhone. The iPhone camera has had a resolution of 12 megapixels since the arrival of the iPhone 6S in 2015.
A camera’s resolution is only a small part of the story. A lot of things are important for good photos and videos. Apple has certainly not been sitting still in the camera field in recent years. However, a higher resolution is valuable for users who print their snapshots in large format.
New iPhone SE and foldable iPhone also on the way
In addition to rumors about the iPhone 14, the Apple analyst also talks about a new iPhone SE. In addition to Apple’s cheapest iPhone, the iPhone SE is also the only iPhone that still has a home button and Touch ID. The next generation is rumored to have a fresh new design. Also, 5G support will finally be present.
In the fall of 2024, according to Kuo the very first foldable iPhone. According to him, the device will have an 8-inch screen with a high resolution. Patience is a virtue, but the editors of iPhoned is very curious about what Apple has in store for the first foldable iPhone.
