Lamborghini has had a particularly good year, despite disruptive issues such as the coronavirus and the chip shortage. The brand claims to have sold more cars than ever before.
Lamborghini sold 8,405 cars last year. More than ever before in a year. It represents an increase of 13 percent compared to last year. Then the pandemic threw quite a spanner in the works. The largest sales increase was recorded in China, where 935 cars were sold, 55 percent more than a year earlier. The US is the largest sales market in absolute numbers, where Lamborghini sold 2,472 cars last year. After the US and China, Germany (706 cars) and the United Kingdom (564 cars) are the largest markets. According to our data, 40 Lamborghinis were sold in the Netherlands in 2021. Only in 2019 there were more: 49 units.
It will probably not surprise you which model resulted in the largest numbers. Indeed, the Urus. No fewer than 5,021 copies of the mighty SUV were sold, or almost 60 percent of the total number of Lambos sold. It was also by far the most popular model in the Netherlands with 23 units. The Huracán was good for 2,586 pieces worldwide and the Aventador for 798 pieces. According to Lamborghini, the fact that the Huracán did so well is largely due to the arrival of the STO.
Lamborghini also had cause for celebration in 2019, as it also set a sales record then. That year, the brand sold 8,205 cars. Sales year 2021 has thus surpassed the previous record by exactly 200 cars.
