Lamborghini sales hit slightly in 2020

Lamborghini sold 7,430 cars worldwide in 2020. This is a decrease of 9 percent compared to 2019. Lamborghini claims to have been able to make up for the damage, particularly in the second half of the year.

Since 2019 was still a record year for the supercar brand from Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, with 8,205 cars sold, the 2020 sales numbers are not very bad. In the spring, the factory was closed for 70 days due to the outbreak of the corona virus in Italy. In the second half of the year, Lamborghini managed to catch up. Remarkably, the brand saw German sales grow by 8 percent to 607 cars. The largest market for Lamborghini is America with 2,224 delivered cars. In the Netherlands, Lamborghini sold 35 cars in the past year. The brand also reports that the order portfolio for 2021 is already half full.

The Urus is again a top seller for Lamborghini with 4,391 units sold. For the Huracán, the sales total increased by 3 percent to 2,193 cars. The Aventador turned out to be slightly less popular last year: sales fell from 1,104 cars in 2019 to 846 cars in 2020. This year, the Urus and Aventador both reached the milestone of 10,000 cars produced. In terms of models, Lamborghini was also on the road in 2020: the Huracán EVO RWD entered the market and the brand also unveiled the Sián, which is the first Lamborghini to have a hybrid powertrain. Furthermore, the Essenza SCV12, Huracán STO and the one-off SC20 passed in review. Quite a bit of fireworks!
