Apple recently released the MacBook Air 2025 and we will tell you the 5 most important differences with the MacBook Air 2024.
MacBook Air 2024 vs MacBook Air 2025
Apple often releases a new version of the most popular Macs every year. Last year around this time the MacBook Air 2024 was launched. The result of those frequent updates is that there are not major changes every year. That is why there is a good chance that it is better to wait a while to buy a new version.
But the MacBook Air 2025 still has some nice updates that are interesting if you already have a MacBook Air 2024. These are the five reasons to upgrade earlier!

1. 16 GB of memory
When Apple brought the first M4 Macs to the market in the fall of 2024, the existing M2 and M3 MacBook Air models were staged to 16 GB RAM. If you then bought a MacBook Air 2024, you are almost certainly not yet interested in a new model. If you bought a MacBook Air 2024 before that time, you also only have 8 GB of memory. That quantity is doubled in one fell swoop if you buy a MacBook Air 2025, because 16 GB is the new basic standard.
Maybe you have already upgraded the memory in your MacBook Air 2024, but that is not enough. The 2024 model has a maximum capacity of 24 GB, the new 2025 model goes up to 32 GB.

2. Center (Center Stage)
The camera has never been the strongest point of the MacBook Air. It performs reasonably well, but is certainly not comparable to what you find in a modern iPhone or iPad. The MacBook Air 2024 has a 1080p Facetime HD camera. The MacBook Air 2025 has an improved 12MP camera with center (Center Stage). In addition, the camera supports office display and 1080p HD video recording. If you often have video calls, a better camera on your MacBook Air can be a good reason to upgrade.

3. Sky blue
Color of course has nothing to do with how well a MacBook Air performs. But of course you want a device that you use day in day out look attractive. The MacBook Air 2025 is available in four colors:
- Sky -blue
- Midnight
- Star light
- Silver
Sky blue is the big addition and it looks beautiful. If it makes you happy, it is not a bad idea at all to exchange your MacBook Air 2024 for a sky -blue MacBook Air 2025.

4. M4 chip with 10 CPU cores
The M4 is the newest chip from Apple and that means in addition to more speed but also future -proofiness. But do you notice the speed difference in practice? That depends on what you do. The M4 comes with 10 CPU cores, a good boost of 25 percent compared to the 8 cores in the M3. Those two extra cores should help with everyday tasks such as surfing on the web and send emails.
The updated Neural Engine in the M4 also offers a number of major benefits, especially for AI tasks. The 16-core neural engine can perform no less than 38 trillion operations per second.

5. Support for external screens has been expanded
Finally, the new MacBook Air 2025 also has an important advantage when it comes to controlling external screens. With the MacBook Air 2024 you can use two external screens next to each other, but you have to keep the lid of the MacBook Air closed.
With the MacBook Air 2025 you have support for two external screens and at the same time you can continue to use the built -in screen of your MacBook Air.
For the rest, practically nothing has changed compared to the MacBook Air 2024. For example, you still have the choice of two sizes (13 inches and 15 inches) and the design is unchanged. The battery life is also completely the same.
