Features you can expect after the update
Many innovations will appear on your Mac after the macOS Sonoma release. We list the most important features that you will receive on September 26.
A lot of new screensavers
Slow motion screensavers of beautiful places around the world. When you log in, they will return as the background on your desktop.

Widgets on your desktop
In the new gallery you will find all kinds of useful widgets. For example, use them to quickly start a podcast. You now also place the widgets directly on your desktop, for super-fast access.
Improved video calls
Including a presenter overlay that ensures that you stay in view when you share your screen. This makes it possible to remain in the foreground while your presentation can be seen behind you (in a separate layer of the image).

Profiles in Safari
Create different profiles for different topics or activities, for example Work or Private. This way you keep your history, extensions, tab groups, cookies and favorites separated per profile.
Improved private mode in Safari
Private windows will now be locked when not in use, and known trackers will be blocked when loading a page. In private windows, tracking is no longer possible via an addition to the URL.

Communications security
Additional security is possible for videos and photos with sensitive content. This works in Messages, but also for images that you send and receive in the photo picker and in third-party apps.
