Mazda is getting ready to unveil the CX-60, a new SUV that the brand will launch this year alongside the CX-80. What the CX-60 will look like from the outside was already largely known, but now Mazda is also showing a glimpse of the interior of the plug-in hybrid.

Admittedly, the photo Mazda swung online of the interior of the CX-60 hasn’t been determined yet. You can see how the dashboard is constructed and what materials Mazda uses. As with the CX-5 and MX-30, among others, the display for the infotainment towers above the dashboard. That dashboard is made up of several layers, with a special stitching incorporated in the middle layer. Mazda says that stitching is inspired by “Musubu,” which is a uniquely Japanese way of tying textiles.

According to Mazda, the Japanese philosophies don’t stop there, because the interior is built on the model of ‘Kaichô’, where a ‘harmony is created by mixing different materials and textures’. In the interior of the CX-60, materials such as nappa leather, maple wood, Japanese textiles and chrome details are involved. At first glance, the dashboard looks quite tidy. That too can be traced back to a Japanese concept: ‘Ma’, which according to Mazda refers to the ‘calm and dignified beauty of empty spaces’.

We will know how the interior of the CX-60 looks like in its entirety on 8 March. Then Mazda pulls the curtain on the new CX-60. It comes to our country in any case as a plug-in hybrid with more than 300 hp. It is not yet known whether Mazda’s new six-in-line petrol engines, which the brand is introducing on the all-new platform of the CX-60, will also be available here.
