When the Apple Vision Pro was just released, Mark Zuckerberg (owner of Meta) said that the Meta Quest 3 is the better VR headset. He then explained why this is the case on Threads.

Zuckerberg says that the Apple Vision Pro does have a higher resolution, but that the VR glasses have had to make some concessions. According to him, Apple’s VR glasses suffer from motion blur and he considers the lack of good and precise controls to be a major shortcoming.

The weight of the Vision Pro is also a disadvantage, according to Zuckerberg. Meta’s headset weighs 515 grams, while the Vision Pro weighs about 600-650 grams depending on the configuration. Then there is the separate battery.

He does not think it is correct that the Meta Quest 3 is called VR/AR glasses for games. Zuckerberg says that the most popular apps on the glasses include social apps such as Horizon, VR Chat and Rec Room. In addition, the Browser and various video apps are also the most popular. Fitness is also regularly used on the headset.

The Meta Quest 3 is ‘only’ $500 in America. Official Dutch prices are not yet available for the Vision Pro, but the Meta headset costs around 549 euros.
