Link WhatsApp to Facebook and Instagram
It has been possible for some time now to automatically post a message you post on Instagram to Facebook. And although WhatsApp has been Meta’s for a long time, this service was hardly involved in the other two. But that will soon change.
Meta has in one newsblog namely indicated that it will soon be possible to link WhatsApp to Instagram and Facebook via the Account Center. The new integration means that you can adjust all settings from one place, and share status updates directly via Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. In addition, it should become easier to log in to multiple Meta apps with one account.
Integration is optional
Meta says the option to link WhatsApp to the Account Center is completely optional and is disabled by default. The company also emphasizes that WhatsApp messages and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted whether you choose to add the app or not. Meta says in the news blog:
Our approach for WhatsApp is simple: your account is separate from other apps and no one but you can change that. While adding your WhatsApp to Accounts Center is completely optional and off by default, it can help those who want features to work more seamlessly across apps. For example it’ll be easier to reshare updates from your WhatsApp Status to Facebook or Instagram Stories and show your friends what’s happening in your life without having to post multiple times. You’ll also be able to log back in to your WhatsApp account with a single sign-on, so you can get back into your accounts faster and with fewer steps.

WhatsApp’s integration with Instagram and Facebook will be rolled out worldwide in the coming months. Once the option is available, you can find it in WhatsApp settings, or when you want to post something on multiple Meta platforms. For example, re-sharing a status to one of the other two apps.
Meta also says that over time it will add more features that work across all Meta apps (for people who want them). Consider the ability to customize your avatars, Meta AI stickers and Imagine Mecreations all in one place. When these updates have been implemented, they will be clearly explained in the different apps. Everyone can therefore make their own, well-considered choice whether or not to use the new functions.
