Attack on Tesla Model Y also planned
MG’s urge to expand seems to know no bounds, both literally and figuratively. In 2024, MG will bring four new models to the Netherlands. One of them you already know in a way, but the other three are much more important newcomers. There is, among other things, a competitor for cars such as the Peugeot 208 and Volkswagen Polo.
MG will bring the Cyberster to the Netherlands around the summer of 2024. That is an electric roadster that mainly functions as an image maker. That is not the only new model that MG will introduce in the Netherlands next year. There are much more important ones.
Attack on Polo
In the first quarter of 2024, MG will introduce a completely new compact model, a car that it says positions it in the heart of the B segment. That will therefore be a competitor of cars such as the Volkswagen Polo, Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa.
Or that will be a fully electric model? That remains to be seen. If that is the case, then we in any case expect that the car – depending on the market where it is sold – will also be available with combustion engines. It is very likely that the car that will succeed the MG 3, which is sold in the United Kingdom.
Shoot at Audi
We also know that MG is next entering the segment of what it calls ‘the luxury class’. With respect to AutoWeek, MG speaks of a car in the waters of models from Audi and Tesla, and in particular the Model Y. What will that be? That remains to be seen, but you can bet that the newcomer will in any case enter the Dutch market as an EV.
