Spotify Premium becomes more expensive again in the US. Does this mean that we will also soon see a price increase in the Netherlands?
Spotify will become more expensive again in 2026
Spotify will soon increase the price of their Premium subscription in the US again. This is already the third price increase since 2023 and Spotify has announced that subscribers in the United States, Estonia and Latvia will receive a message about the new rates in the coming month.
For an individual Premium subscription in the United States, the price will increase from $11.99 to $12.99. The student subscription is also becoming more expensive there. It goes from $5.99 to $6.99.
The larger bundles are taking an even bigger hit, as the price of Premium Duo increases from $16.99 to $18.99 and Premium Family goes from $19.99 to $21.99. Spotify says these types of price updates are occasionally necessary to continue delivering the value of the service, improve the listening experience and support artists.
Will Spotify’s Dutch prices also increase?
Whether Spotify will also become more expensive in the Netherlands in 2026 remains to be seen. We also had a price increase here in April 2025. And in some other European countries there has only been a price increase in August 2025.
America had its last price increase in June 2024. If we extend the same period of time between the increases, we would not be surprised if Spotify becomes more expensive here again sometime towards the end of 2026 and implements a price increase. How much exactly will this increase be? That will probably be one or two euros again, depending on the type of Spotify subscription you have.
