One of the most requested functions of Twitter remains the adjustment of your tweets afterwards. But it really seems to be coming now. Unfortunately, the feature is not available to everyone. iPhoned explains it.
New feature for Twitter: adjust tweets afterwards
In April, Elon Musk asked his followers in a poll whether they would like the option to edit tweets afterwards. More than seventy percent of all participants indicated that they would like the position only too much.
Now it seems that Twitter has responded, because the service is testing a function that allows you to edit a tweet afterwards. There are a few rules to this.
Editing Tweets: Not for everyone, with rules
At the moment, the tweet editing feature is only available to some ‘Twitter Blue’ users. Twitter Blue is the paid version of Twitter, which is not (yet) available in the Netherlands. Only America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can currently use the paid version.
In addition, you can’t just edit every tweet afterwards. The company says the tweets may be edited a number of times, up to 30 minutes after they are published. The tweets that have been modified afterwards are provided with an icon, the time at which they were edited and are given a label. This way it remains clear that a tweet has been edited afterwards. Tapping on the label will bring up all previous versions of the tweet.
New feature for everyone: Twitter Circle
By the way, Twitter is not sitting still and has recently also introduced Twitter Circle for all users. This allows you to create a group of up to 150 people. When you post a new tweet and choose this ‘Twitter Circle’, only the people in this group will see your message. This is useful, for example, if you only want to share a message with the family members who follow you.
Note: Anyone you add to your Twitter Circle afterwards can also view your previous Circle tweets. By the way, your followers will not be notified when you edit the Twitter Circle.
