New Fiat Panda: from Italy to Serbia

The current Fiat Panda is on its last legs and will be replaced by a completely new generation in 2024. The electric Panda was not born in Italy, but in Serbia.

Despite its youthful round shapes, the Fiat Panda that you can still order is certainly no longer a young one. The model has been running since 2011 and has been produced in Pomigliano d’Arco, Italy since this year. In 2024, after thirteen years, we will be introduced to a completely new Panda, of which fully electric versions will also be available. These will soon not roll off the production line in Italy, but in Serbia. Automotive News reports this.

After a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Aleksandar Vučić – the President of Serbia – reportedly said that the new (electric) Fiat Panda will be built in Serbia. To be precise in Kragujevac. Fiat already has a production facility in that large city where it produces the 500L. The 500L will probably not have a direct successor, so a production site will become available in that factory. The Kragujevac factory is not entirely Fiat. Stellantis owns 67 percent of its shares, the remaining 33 percent belongs to the Serbian state.

The new Fiat Panda will soon be a technical sister model of the Citroën ë-C3 and also promises to be a relatively affordable EV. Incidentally, – just like the new C3 – variants with mild-hybrid or non-mild-hybrid petrol engines should also appear.
