New FRITZ!Box 6850 5G router with Mesh WiFi, telephony and smart home applications

The review of the AVM FRITZ!Box 6850 LTE Router was previously published. Now there is the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G, an all-in-one router for the new 5G mobile communication standard that ensures high bandwidths with gigabit speeds and minimal latencies, even where reliable DSL or other cable connections are not available. This makes the FRITZ!Box 6850 5G attractive for use with real-time applications such as virtual reality and gaming, as well as for users who depend on a reliable internet connection to work from home. The powerful features of the wireless dual-band router include flexible connectivity options for radio and cable networks. Thanks to Mesh Wi-Fi, a seamless and reliable Wi-Fi network can be used throughout the house (dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with up to 1266 Mbit/s). In addition, the four gigabit LAN ports and the fast USB port allow the connection of many network devices, as well as hard drives and printers that are always accessible to all authorized users – even via secure remote access if necessary.

Connections and ease of use
The integrated telephone system not only includes a connection for analog telephones and many functions such as call forwarding and answering machines, but also a DECT base station. Up to six cordless telephones and many smart home solutions can be connected to it. The familiar home network convenience of a FRITZ!Box as a Mesh Master for Wi-Fi, telephony and smart home applications is now also available in 5G networks.
