It looks like Apple will present new MacBook Pros with an M4 chip in the fourth quarter of this year. You need to know this.
New MacBook Pros will be released at the end of this year
MacBook Pros with an M4 chip are coming, according to analyst Ross Young probably on the market at the end of this year. In a tweet, he said that shipments of displays for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will begin in the third quarter of 2024, pointing to a launch toward the end of the year.
We saw the first M4 innovations last May with the launch of the M4 iPad Pro. The first Macs with M4 chips are also scheduled for a 2024 launch. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will update both the MacBook Pro and Mac mini this year.
You can expect these M4 chips
The entry-level model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro will probably have an M4 chip. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are likely to be equipped with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. The Mac mini will have M4 and M4 Pro chips. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro models will not get an M4 chip until 2025. It is not yet clear when the iMac will receive an update
Apple’s M4 chip is built using the improved 3-nanometer process. Apple first introduced the 3-nanometer technology in the M3 line. In Geekbench 6 benchmarks, the M4 chip is up to 25 percent faster than the M3 chip, so we could see similar improvements on the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.
Apart from the M4 chips, the upcoming MacBook Pros are not expected to have any new functions or features. Apple is working on OLED displays, but we don’t expect an OLED MacBook Pro until 2026 at the earliest. Do you not want to wait that long for the new MacBooks, or do you need a new laptop now?
