New MacBook will be much cheaper: this is the expected price

Much cheaper MacBook

Apple is therefore working on a completely new MacBook, which becomes much cheaper. It is expected that the laptop in the United States will cost $ 599 or $ 699, which is much lower than the current initial prices of the MacBook Air. In Europe, the prices of Apple products are usually slightly higher, so that a starting price of approximately here 800 euros is expected. That is a big difference with the prices of the current MacBooks.

A18 Pro chip

The cheaper MacBook is said to get an A18 Pro chip to press the price of the device. We already see this processor in the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max and is comparable to Apple’s M1 chip. In this way the laptop still has enough computing power for performing the most important tasks. The A18 Pro chip comes with 8 GB of memory, which is also expected at the new MacBook.

The advantage of the A18 Pro chip is that it is extremely energy efficient, which means that the cheaper MacBook has to be placed on the charger much less quickly. This is also due to the smaller screen, which is probably 12.9 inches in size. The MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch display, the new MacBook is therefore becoming a blow smaller. In principle, that is an advantage, because the laptop uses even less power.

Release of the MacBook

The 12.9-inch MacBook is probably available in a series of striking colors, unlike the colors of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. We are reportedly knowing which colors are in a few months. According to rumors, Apple started production of the cheaper MacBook, so that we expect the device at the end of 2025 or early 2026. Apple may announce the new MacBook before.

The cheaper MacBook applies as a supplement to the existing line-up of the laptop. So you will soon have the choice of the ‘normal’ MacBook, the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro.
