At the unveiling of the new C-class, Mercedes-Benz kept its jaws tight about a sequel for the Cabrio and Coupé. Our spy photographer puts an end to the doubt in one fell swoop, because here we see the new C-class Convertible!
A sequel for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabrio was anything but certain. When the brand new C-class was unveiled in February, the Germans did not want to say anything concrete about more body shapes than the Sedan and Estate. The only thing that could be said in front of Techzle, among others, was that the current Cabrio and Coupé have to go on even longer next to the new C-class. That offered little hope for completely new successors, but now we at least see the new C-class Cabrio!
The C-class Cabrio is, not surprisingly, still heavily covered with concealing panels and stickers. Yet it is already somewhat noticeable that the new C-class Cabrio is somewhat slimmer in shape than the current one. The headlights are a bit lower in the nose and at the rear the window line seems to be a lot less high than we are used to. The new C-class Cabrio also seems to have a fabric roof again.
The first sign of life for the C-Class Cabrio also offers hope for a new Coupé version. Given the solid camouflage and the earlier statements by Mercedes, it is only likely that we do not have to expect the new C-class Cabrio and Coupé before 2023.
