iOS 19 is only presented during the WWDC in June, but it is becoming increasingly clear about what the design may look like.
This may be the design of iOS 19
The new mock-ups come from a new one video from Jon Prosser and give the most extensive image of the design of iOS 19. When the mock-ups turn out to be correct, it looks like Apple has found a good balance between new and familiar.
Every year rumors are circulating that iOS gets a real new design for the first time since iOS 7 and that is no different this year. Yet it seems that this time we will really see a renewed design of iOS 19. The new video from Prosser gives the best picture so far from what the new design might look like. The right balance
A huge redesign of the operating system is rather risky for Apple. There is certainly a large group of users who like to see major changes, but most iPhone users are not waiting for it at all. They opt for an iPhone every time because everything is so familiar. That is why it is logical that Apple does try to renew the design of iOS 19, but at the same time does not want to change the service too much. In the new mock-ups it seems that Apple has succeeded in finding the right balance in this.
You can see this balance in the new app icons, among other things. They have not become completely round, but nevertheless look renewed. Furthermore, Apple seems to remove the traditional tabs everywhere. We already saw that in the photos app, diary app and the invitations app. This may be further expanded.
But the new mock-ups show that Apple wants to retain the tabs for certain apps, but with a new appearance. Below you can see a mock-up of the design of the music app in iOS 19, with a search bar next to a new button at the bottom. All tabs of the app are under that button at the bottom left button, so if you tap it, they will be displayed. Finally, we also see some new switches in the video.
WWDC 2025
What the design of iOS 19 really will look like, it becomes clear during the WWDC 2025. It takes place on Monday, June 9, or Whit Monday. Apple then presents the new operating system. Only in September iOS 19 will become available to everyone.
