Nio ET5 Touring

The Chinese Nio sprints through car land and sprinkles left and right with new models. Soon you will also be able to purchase an electric station wagon from Nio in the Netherlands. It is called Nio ET5 Touring and can be seen from all angles even before its official unveiling.

Nio already supplies two electric sedans and an electric SUV in the Netherlands, and a whole bunch of newcomers will soon be added. For example, Nio has already presented new models such as the EC7 and ES8 and in April it even conjured up the ES6, an SUV that will probably come our way as EL6. Possibly even more interesting is the new station wagon of the Nio ET5 currently already available in the Netherlands. AutoWeek was able to show you the first photos of the electric station wagon back in March and today we have more images and new information. It will be called Nio ET5 Touring and the Chinese hope that BMW will not find that a problem.

Nio ET5 Touring.

The Nio ET5 Touring, like the existing ET5 in sedan form, is 4.79 meters long and shares its wheelbase of 2.89 meters with that four-door. The roofline of the ET5 Touring continues to the rear and ends in a relatively flat rear window with a rear spoiler above it. The fact that the ET5 Touring is no longer than the sedan indicates that the station wagon is not an outright pack mule and the first official figures confirm this. The ET5 Touring swallows up to 1,300 liters with the rear seats folded down. A Mercedes-Benz C-class can store more than 1,500 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Count on powertrains that match those of the regular ET5. That means a strong powertrain thanks to two electric motors of 480 hp and 700 Nm and a range of around 600 kilometers.

The Nio ET5 Touring will of course be marketed in the country of origin China. The good news: he is also coming to the Netherlands! Nio is also shipping it to Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany this year. Other electric station wagons for sale in the Netherlands or coming to the Netherlands include the MG 5 Electric, the Opel Astra Electric Sports Tourer, the Peugeot e-308 SW, the Volkswagen ID7 Variant and the BMW i5 Touring. The Nio ET5 will make its (European) debut on June 15.
