Double top

The days when Chinese cars folded like a carton of vanilla custard during the Euro NCAP safety test and fell through the basket with the same ease are years behind us. The recent test results of the Euro NCAP show that Nio also has everything in order when it comes to safety.
The European branch of the security institute Global NCAP has subjected the Nio ET5 and Nio EL7 to extensive safety tests. Both the electric sedan (ET5) and the larger SUV (ET7) returned home with the maximum possible score of five NCAP stars. It is not the first time that Nio’s cars have achieved more than excellent results. For example, the first Nio sold in Europe – the ES8 – also managed to rake in five stars in 2021. In 2022, the Nio ET7, the brand’s largest sedan for the time being, also scored five stars behind its name.
In terms of adult occupant protection, the ET5 and EL7 score 96 percent and 93 percent respectively of the maximum possible points. Child safety in the car was rated with 85 percent of the maximum score for the ET5 and EL7. In terms of pedestrian safety, the ET5 and EL7 score 83 percent and 80 percent of the points respectively. The safety systems present give the ET5 81 percent of the points in this area, the EL7 rakes in 79 percent of the achievable points.
