Now official: Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

Bad news for Bugatti. Although the hypercar manufacturer had postponed the presentation of its newcomer after the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show, today the muscular colossus appeared too early online. Following this, Bugatti now officially unveils Pur Sport.

The Chiron is already very exclusive in itself, but Bugatti manages to get the assembly line with limited special versions of the model. For example, the hypercar exists as Sport and as Supersport and with the Divo and the La Voiture Noire and the Centodieci, the brand has also developed a set of one-offs based on the Chiron. Bugatti now adds a new version to the Chiron range: the Pur Sport, a more light-footed variant of the Chiron with a rear spoiler of no less than 1.9 meters wide.

Bugatti has given the automatic transmission of the Chiron shorter gear ratios and has also examined the mighty 8.0-W16. That sixteen-cylinder still delivers 1,500 horsepower, but from now on the speed limiter will only cut in at 6,900 rpm (+200 rpm). According to Bugatti, thanks to the shorter gear ratios in its sixth gear, the Chiron Pur Sport moves from 60 to 120 km / h in 4.4 seconds. By the way, the party ends considerably earlier than usual; at 350 km / h. Bugatti says with the Pur Sport to focus more on optimum performance and wider availability of power, than top speed.

Curb up

To curb the more aggressive uplifting Chiron, Bugatti installs a set of springs at the front that are 65 percent stiffer than the standard copies. The rear suspension is also being revised. 33 percent stiffer springs get a place here. The dampers have been revised and the Chiron stands on lightweight wheels that result in a weight saving of 16 kilos.

Sport Cup 2 R tires are fitted around the wheels, specially developed by Michelin for the Chiron. On the rear wheels they have a size of no less than 355/25. Bugatti uses new titanium brake shoes and lighter brake discs to further reduce weight. At the bottom, the Chiron Pur Sport puts 19 kilos less in the bowl than the original. On the outside, the Chiron Pur Sport can be recognized by, among other things, its larger grille and its small aerodynamic extras made entirely from carbon fiber.

Bugatti is going to produce only 16 Chirons Pur Sport, allegedly for no less than 3.2 million euros. Yes, that is excluding taxes …
