OnePlus just announced the OnePlus Nord CE 2. The phone mainly stands out because of its 64W fast charging function, AMOLED panel and translucent design. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 will be for sale in the Netherlands from March 10 for a price of 329 euros.
OnePlus North CE 2
The Chinese OnePlus comes with a new phone in their Nord line. This line is mainly characterized by offering the ‘OnePlus experience’ for the lowest possible price. This OnePlus experience stands for good performance, fine software, a beautiful display and, above all, a nice and fast overall user experience. The OnePlus Nord CE 2, the successor to the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, focuses on this and comes with a number of spearheads.

Battery goes from 0 to 100% in 43 minutes
One of these spearheads is the fast charging technology that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 brings, SuperVOOC. With this fast charging technology, you can charge the OnePlus Nord CE 2 with a power of no less than 65 watts. According to OnePlus, the phone would be charged from 1 to 70% in less than half an hour. A full charge should take about 45 minutes. This means that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 still offers one of the fastest fast charging technologies available at the moment.
Design and cameras
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 will be available in Gray Mirror and Bahama Blue colors. According to OnePlus, the device has undergone the same ‘cosmetic treatment’ as the OnePlus 9 series. This effect allows the company, they say, to create a beautiful translucent and mirror effect on the back. The Gray Mirror edition should provide a ‘futuristic and daring’ feel, the Bahama Blue should provide a beautiful and bold color coating.
On the back of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 we also see three cameras. A 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle lens and a 2 MP macro camera. These cameras are integrated into the phone’s design, a bit like we saw with the OPPO Find X3 Pro. The back of the phone consists of one piece of plastic and the camera runs through it. According to OnePlus, the photos taken with the cameras of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 should contain sparkling colors and a lot of detail. In addition, the phone must also be able to take good photos in poor lighting conditions. We will of course test this extensively in the review of the device.

Fast user experience, two years of upgrades
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset. This is a midrange processor that we often encounter in phones around 250 to 300 euros. This processor can also be found in the OPPO Reno 6 and the OPPO Find X5 Lite, among others. The phone also offers 5G support.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 continues to run on OxygenOS 11, which is based on Android 11. According to OnePlus, it is the most optimized version of OxygenOS 11 currently (yet) available. The phone will receive two new Android versions and three years of security updates. OxygenOS 12 (Android 12) is scheduled to roll out to Nord CE 2 in the second half of 2022.
