Lars’ favorite app: Microsoft Teams

Perhaps the term “favorite” app isn’t quite right, but Microsoft Teams is without a doubt the most necessary app Lars has used this year. In a year when the whole world was forced to switch to digital working, meeting and taking lessons, Microsoft Teams is the app that has developed at a breakneck pace.

What started as an app for online meetings and keeping in touch has grown in less than a year into the app that countless schools use to teach children and students. Microsoft has cleverly responded to this with special functions that are specifically intended for home education.

Michel’s favorite app: Amazing Marvin

Michel’s favorite iOS app wasn’t made in 2020, but he discovered it this year. Don’t be distracted by the slightly crazy name, Amazing Marvin is a fantastic calendar app, although you can do a lot more with it. At the same time, the app is also the home base for to-do lists, notes and project management.

Amazing Marvin especially excels in adaptability. When setting up the app, which is also available on Android and as a desktop version, you can indicate yourself how you bring order to your life. Erwin’s favorite app: OkCupid

When it comes to dating apps, of course everyone knows Tinder. In addition, apps such as Bumble, Happn and Badoo are also known, but OkCupid is often forgotten. Erwin thinks this is unjust and there are a few reasons.

The biggest reason is that OkCupid’s profiles are much more focused on who you are as a person, rather than just a few photos. OkCupid offers a lot of questions for you to answer. In the summer of the one and a half meter society, Kaylee got to know a group of great people. And how do you easily keep in touch? Discord is the answer.

First and foremost, Discord is a chat platform for gamers, but its ease of use and many additional features have made the app surpass its original purpose. Not only is the app used to talk while playing online, but it is also a nice place to meet others and hang out with acquaintances online.

Dilara’s favorite app: the Reminders app

Except for a number of new iOS games, such as Among Us, Dilara always mainly uses the same apps on the iPhone. In addition to online banking and e-mail, one day she mainly opens Google Calendar, WhatsApp and Instagram. Since this year, however, Dilara has also started using the Reminders app almost daily, an app that has been in iOS for a while.

With the arrival of iOS 13 at the end of last year, Apple has given the Reminders app a makeover. Since then she has used the application for so many different things that she can no longer do without it. Dilara uses the app for all kinds of lists: from a to-do list for the day to packing her bag.

Mike’s Favorite App: Halide Mark II

It was a great year for smartphone photography enthusiasts. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have great cameras, but Apple ProRAW might be even more interesting. This new file format allows you to edit photos with minimal loss of quality, while preserving features such as Smart HDR 3.

But what if you’re not ready for a new phone yet? Then the Halide Mark II app is a godsend according to Mike. Although you have to miss Apple ProRAW on older iPhones, you can shoot ‘normal’ RAW photos with it. Halide also lets you set many things yourself. For example, you can manually adjust the white balance and choose your own shutter speed.
