Passcode on iPad or iPhone

Secure your device with a passcode. As a result, you will not be able to access the device until the correct code has been entered.

The iPad or iPhone can be secured with a PIN code. As a result, the user will not be able to access the device until the correct code has been entered. Follow these steps to set the passcode:

  • Tap on Institutions.
  • Tap on Touch ID and Passcode or Face ID and access code.
  • If necessary, swipe down and tap Enable code to lock with a code.
  • Enter an access code.
  • Retype the chosen access code.
  • Enter the password for your Apple ID and tap Login or Continue.

Now if you turn the device off or put it to sleep, you will only be able to access it with the PIN code afterwards. The newer models of iPads and iPhone also have a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition. This also protects the device. Read more about this in the article ‘Secure your iPad’.

In the event of theft of the device, the SIM card from your device can be put in another device. Then the card can be used, unless you also protect the SIM card with a code. Above all do this. You can read how, in the article ‘Sim card security of your smartphone’.
