508 PSE is the most powerful Peugeot ever
Peugeot 508Sport Engineered HYbrid4
Peugeot takes the most powerful model ever for sale: the 508 Sport Engineered HYbrid4. More performance models will appear under the PSE label that you can still drive with low fuel consumption.
From now on you can order the Peugeot 508 hatchback and station wagon as Sport Engineered (SPE) HYbrid4. That is the most powerful driver’s car that Peugeot has ever put on the market. The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines three engines and an e-EAT8 automatic transmission. The PureTech petrol engine is 200 hp. There is an electric motor of 110 hp on the front axle, and one of 113 hp on the rear axle. In total, the system power is 360 hp and the torque is 520 Nm. The top speed is limited to 250 km / h.
Yet this car does not have to be a major polluter. According to the WLTP test, even a combined fuel consumption of 2.03 l / 100 km is possible, although the practical figure will mainly be influenced by how often you charge the battery pack. In addition, you can control consumption by choosing the Electric, Hybrid or Comfort driving mode as much as possible. If you want to drive dynamically, choose the 4WD or Sport mode. Recovered energy can be released with the ‘i-booster’.
Sports technique
All kinds of sports techniques and accessories are standard on the 508 PSE. Examples are the wider track compared to the regular 508, the low seating position, brake discs, brake calipers, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, variable shock absorption, Active Suspension Control and lateral air deflectors (‘flaps’) on the front and rear bumper.
The equipment is also beautiful. There are, among other things, 20-inch light-alloy wheels in two-tone design ‘Black Mist’ and electrically adjustable sports seats with memory in leather, Alcantara or Nappa. The Peugeot 508 PSE HYbrid4 hatchback is available from 70,700 euros, the 508 PSE SW version from 72,300 euros. The market launch is at the beginning of May.
