The third-generation iPhone SE is coming soon: Apple will probably present the entry-level iPhone of 2022 in March or April. Now a photo of a prototype would have surfaced. So is this the new iPhone SE 3 design?

The photo was posted to Twitter by LeaksApplePro. The anonymous Apple leaker doesn’t have an impressive track record, so his tweet should be taken with a grain of salt.
The image shows a prototype of an alleged iPhone SE 3, which looks completely different from the current model. That is striking, because according to reliable Apple insiders (including Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman), the iPhone SE 2022 looks exactly like its predecessor.
On the back, the iPhone SE 3 in the photo has an elongated, vertical camera module. It reminds us of the iPhone X and iPhone XS, although the flash and the hole for the microphone are placed below it. An important difference is that the side of the prototype appears to be flat. This makes the design in line with the angular design of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
Based on the statements of more reliable Apple insiders, it seems unlikely to us that this is the design of the iPhone 3. Still, the shared photo is interesting, because it could well be the fourth-generation iPhone SE. It will get a completely new design and, according to the latest rumors, it will be released in 2024.
iPhone SE 2022 updates
Despite the leaked photo, we expect the design of the iPhone SE to remain unchanged. The home button and single rear camera are still present, making the entry-level iPhone look quite dated in 2022. This allows Apple to keep the price tag affordable. The device will probably cost again about 489 euros.
