Unconventional combination
Following the Revuelto, the Lamborghini Urus is introduced to partly electric propulsion. The Italians are now testing whether this also works well on a circuit.
A Lamborghini SUV is and remains a bit of a special sensation, but it is also one that does not only get its power from a screaming fuel engine. Yes, we have before us one of the most remarkable ‘Lambos’ in years: the plug-in hybrid Urus. Someone who undoubtedly has no problem with that was given the great task of chasing the colossus over the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. After all, it is and remains a Lamborghini.
It remains to be seen what exactly combination will provide the drivetrain. We are still committed to ensuring that the beating heart is a 4.0 V8, which works together with an electric motor. While we previously talked about 680 hp system power, we now certainly cannot rule out 700 hp. After all, Porsche pulled the curtain on the updated and now 739 hp Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid at the end of August. It could be that its powertrain finds its way to the Urus. If we continue to look at the Cayenne, we also see the S E-Hybrid with a 3.0 V6 as the beating heart and a system power of over 500 hp. That technology would fit perfectly with a ‘milder’ version of the plug-in hybrid Urus.
