On May 7, 2024 Apple’s first event of the year takes place. To 16.00 hours (Dutch time) the presentation begins. Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Air 2024, iPad Pro 2024 and a new Apple Pencil that afternoon.
But how long will this event actually last? We thought you should allow between 30 and 60 minutes for the latest event. In his newsletter, usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman says that Apple’s iPad event will last about 35 minutes.
This means that it will be a fairly short event. A bit like the ‘Scary Fast’ event that we could see on the night of Monday (10/30/2023) to Tuesday (10/31/2023) at 1:00 am. That event on the M3 only lasted just over 30 minutes.
This is what you can expect during the 2024 iPad event
Still, it seems to be a packed half hour. Because Apple is expected to unveil three new products. The new iPad Air 2024 is the first of these. According to rumors, the iPad Air will appear for the first time in a 12.9-inch version, so you will soon have a choice of two models with the tablet. In addition, the iPad Air 2024 will switch to the fast M2 chip and Apple will adjust the camera island of the device.
With the iPad Pro 2024, Apple is switching to the powerful M3 chip, which we already see in the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. The tablet has an OLED screen for the first time. More major changes are expected with the iPad Pro 2024, for example, the tablet will receive support for MagSafe and a modified design.
