Realme releases GT2 series in the Netherlands: high-end specifications from 499 euros

Realme has announced the Realme GT2 Pro in the Netherlands, a high-end smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and 6.7 inch AMOLED screen. In addition, the Realme GT2 appears with Snapdragon 888 processor. These are all the details.

Realme GT2 Pro

The Realme GT2 Pro is the latest top device from the manufacturer and is suitable for people who are looking for a fast smartphone with an AMOLED screen for a very competitive price. This phone was already announced for the home country of China and is now also coming to the Netherlands for a suggested retail price from 699 euros. For that you get, among other things, a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and the latest and most powerful chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The large screen has a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits, making it easy to read in bright sunlight. In addition, it is an LTPO screen, which can switch between a refresh rate of between 10 and 120 Hertz. That has several advantages. The screen can also take a beating thanks to Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Realme GT2 Pro also has a 50 MP main camera, with PDAF autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS). In addition, there is a 50 MP wide-angle camera that can capture 150-degree photos, and a 3 MP microscope camera that can magnify objects up to 40 times. We saw such a camera before with the OPPO Find X3 Pro. For the selfies, there is a 32 MP camera. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and supports 65W SuperDart Charge fast charging. This means that the battery is fully charged in 33 minutes.

Realme GT2

The Realme GT2 is the second device in the series. First of all, there is a slightly smaller 6.62 inch screen at 120Hz, but that works without a variable refresh rate. The panel also has a Full HD resolution. In addition, the phone has a Snapdragon 888 processor, but the battery and fast charger are the same compared to the Pro phone.

Realme has also opted for a simpler camera setup. A 50 MP main camera is assisted by an 8 MP wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. So no microscope lens.

Paper and updates

As with the Realme GT Master Edition, Realme is collaborating again with designer Naoto Fukasawa for the design of the GT2 series. Fukasawa based the phone’s design on paper art, ‘Paper Tech Master Design’. The special plastic finish makes it feel like you’re touching paper. In addition, the packaging of the Realme GT2 is recyclable.

The GT 2 series runs on Realme UI 3.0, which is based on Android 12. Realme is committed to three years of Android OS updates and four years of security updates for the GT 2 series. That doesn’t sound like a guarantee, by the way.
