There is no size on the Red Bull Formula 1 team this year. From a British angle in particular, it sounds critical that Red Bull is ‘much too strong’, but team boss Christian Horner mainly wonders what the rest is doing.
There is actually no longer any doubt about it: Red Bull will be the constructors’ champion this year. Max Verstappen will probably take his third world title in a row. The fact that it is so clear after only five of the 23 races, especially from the British angle, causes depressed faces. As if the Mercedes era had never been, the criticism from the Mercedes fan base and also from British reporting is that Red Bull is very dominant and that this is bad for the sport.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner obviously does not care about that. Calculated at Sky Sports F1 he indicates that it’s up to the rest: “Five races, five wins and the sprint race, four one-two finishes. We’ve never had a start like this and we actually wonder where the others are.”
Only one can be number 1 (ANP).
According to Horner, it is very clear: the rest simply has to do a better job. “We just took a normal step in the winter, but we wonder where Mercedes and Ferrari have gone.” Does the Horner rise slightly to its head? Nope, he just stays wary of what’s to come. According to the Brit, there is really something in the barrel with the competition. “They are working hard on updates for Europe (the European races, ed.), I’m sure of that.” Now the only question is whether it will be enough to put Red Bull under fire.
