Samsung has expanded its 9100 Pro SSD range with two new models with a capacity of 8TB. The SSDs, which use the PCIE 5.0 interface, are designed for High-Performance-Users such as gamers, content creators and professionals who demand maximum speed and reliability.
Previously, Samsung already launched the 9100 Pro in variants of 1TB, 2TB and 4TB, which we previously tested extensively and showed very impressive performance (read our review here). The new 8TB versions-available in a standard version and a variant with Heatsink – Now add an option with extra storage capacity.
The performance of the 8TB models are impressive on paper: sequential reading speeds up to 14,800 MB/s and writing speeds up to 13,400 MB/s, combined with random reading and writing speeds up to 2.2 and 2.6 million IOPs respectively. The new SSDs thus deliver up to 99 percent better performance than their predecessor, the 990 Pro. Thanks to improved thermal management, they are also up to 49 percent more energy efficient.
The model with heatsinK provides extra heat dissipation, making stable performance possible with long -term use. The compatibility is also wide: the SSDs are suitable for laptops, desktops and game consoles, including the PlayStation 5, where the specially designed cooling body takes into account the requirements of Sony’s console.
For gamers this means that a complete gambling library can be stored without any problems: an 8TB SSD offers space for around 80 modern titles, based on an average gaming size of 90 GB. With this, Samsung responds to the growing demand for storage space due to increasingly extensive games and data-intensive applications.
The new models are available from September 15, 2025. The suggested retail price is € 1,040.00 for the 8TB version without Heatsink and € 1,069.99 for the model with Heatsink.
