See: this Android brand is already adopting the Liquid Glass design

iOS 26 with Liquid Glass has only been available to the general public for about a month, but there’s already an Android brand imitating it.

The new iOS 26 and especially Apple’s Liquid Glass design certainly looks beautiful. It is therefore quite obvious that other brands will sooner or later copy it. Yet it is surprising that there is already an Android brand that has almost seamlessly adopted Liquid Glass in a new update.

It concerns the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo. For the latest operating system update (OriginOS 6), it was clearly inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design. OriginOS 6 was unveiled last week and has the same transparent glass-like appearance that we know from iOS 26.

Water instead of glass

In the video above, it can be seen that a Vivo smartphone has an interface that can easily be mistaken for iOS 26. There is a Liquid Glass-like clock and a Control Center on the Android device. There are square icons and glassy rounded buttons, transparent folders and a dock. Notifications are also transparent and even backgrounds change with a 2D-to-3D effect, just like Apple’s spatial scenes.

The influence of Liquid Glass on the design is absolutely unmistakable, even though Vivo itself refers to water instead of glass when describing the new operating system. Marketing materials for the update include the following:

“With OriginOS 6, every swipe, scroll, and tap is smoother than ever before. No delays. No stutters. Just effortless gestures tailored to the way you move.”

Vivo is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that mainly sells its Android devices in China, India and a number of other countries. Most Vivo smartphones are therefore not available in the United States and Europe. However, Vivo recently received permission to also sell the new Vivo X300 FE in the US.
