Photos have leaked showing the new USB-C port of the iPhone 15. This is what the new iPhone with USB-C looks like!
New iPhones get USB-C
It is almost certain that the iPhone 15 (Plus) and iPhone 15 Pro (Max) will have a USB-C connection this year. The European Union has passed a new law that states that all new electronic devices must have a USB-C connection from November 2024. This should reduce electronic waste in the future.

Apple is anticipating this law by providing the entire iPhone 15 series with a USB-C connection this year. Earlier, a photo of the iPhone 15 was leaked, which indeed showed a USB-C port. New images have now appeared of almost the entire iPhone 15 series, showing that all models will have a USB-C connection. This is what the new USB-C port looks like.
This is what the iPhone 15 with USB-C looks like
The first photo shows two USB-C connections for different iPhones. Another image has now been shared, showing a third USB-C input. This concerns the new USB-C port for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This means that Apple will say goodbye to the Lightning adapter with the new series of iPhones this year, which we still find in the iPhone.
It is not expected that the iPhone 15 will work optimally with every USB-C cable. If it’s up to Apple, only cables with an MFi certification will soon be able to handle the maximum charging speed of 27 W. Moreover, this faster charging standard will probably only come to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max with the new USB-C port.
With the iPhone 14 (Plus), the highest charging speed is still 20 W, which will most likely remain the same with the iPhone 15. So for the faster charging standard you have to go to the Pro models again, just like with the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). The USB-C port of the iPhone 15 (Plus) then supports 20 W, that of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) is slightly faster at 27 W.
All iPhone 15 rumors in one place
With the USB-C port, the iPhone gets a new entrance for the first time in eleven years. In 2012, Apple introduced the Lightning adapter with the iPhone 5, but it is now permanently deleted. It remains to be seen whether Apple will put a new adapter in the box with the iPhone 15, or whether you will have to purchase it separately. Since the iPhone 12, Apple no longer supplies an adapter with a new iPhone.
