On an Apple Watch you can easily set a different watch face on the smartwatch. But how do you actually do that?
Set up the Apple Watch dial: this is how you do it
Whether you have an Apple Watch Series 10 (€ 414), an Apple Watch SE 2022 (€ 204.95) or an Apple Watch Ultra 2 (€ 742.95): you can set a new watch face on every Apple smartwatch . You can also follow the steps below for older Apple Watches, as long as you have watchOS 11 installed.
Set Apple Watch face
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone;
- Tap ‘Watches’ at the bottom;
- Tap one of the Watch faces, for example ‘Color’;
- Customize the watch face to your liking with the available options;
- Tap Add at the top of the screen to send the watch face to your Apple Watch.
Once you click ‘Add’, the chosen watch face will immediately appear on your Apple Watch. So you don’t have to activate it first.
You can also set a watch face on the Apple Watch entirely on your smartwatch. That is a bit less convenient, but it is an option if you do not have your iPhone at hand. You do this in the following way.
- Press and hold your finger on the watch face of your Apple Watch;
- Swipe left until you see the plus sign and tap it;
- Scroll to the watch face you want to set on the Apple Watch;
- Tap ‘Add’;
- If necessary, adjust the dial with the available options;
- Press the Digital Crown twice to finalize the watch face.
Remove watch face on Apple Watch
