Subaru Solterra
Subaru has announced that the all-new electric SUV will be named Solterra and is scheduled to hit the market in 2022.
Solterra is Subaru’s all-new C-segment all-electric SUV. The Solterra is scheduled to enter the European market in 2022.
The e-Subaru Global platform, jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota, enables the efficient development of different types of electric vehicles by combining multiple modules and components such as the front, center and rear of a vehicle.
The name Solterra originated from the words Sol and Terra, Latin words for the sun and the earth, to merge. Subaru gave this name to the EV to appreciate Mother Nature. Subaru also wants to emphasize its commitment to offering traditional Subaru SUV features in a fully electric vehicle. The Solterra will also have ‘go-anywhere’ capabilities.
The model will be on the market by mid-2022.
