Purchase subsidy has been requested for so many electric cars in two days that more than a quarter of this year’s total budget has already been used.
By the end of the second day that it was possible, a subsidy was requested for the purchase or private lease of more than 6,300 used and new electric cars. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) reports this on Wednesday. This concerns an amount of slightly more than €19 million. The RVO emphasizes that these are applications, the amounts have not yet been approved. The subsidy pot for 2022 has been filled with an amount of around €71 million, so almost 27 percent of it has already been reserved. There is considerably more available this year than last year, when it was €14.4 million.
The new subsidy desk for electric cars has been open since Monday. Anyone who buys a new electric car with a list price of at least €12,000 and a maximum of €45,000 can expect an amount of €3,350 from the government. Compensations are also available for the purchase of used electric cars and for the private lease of both a used and a new one. For used cars, this concerns an amount of €2,000.
