Suzuki S-Cross and Vitara now also with automatic transmission

Both the Suzuki Vitara and the S-Cross will receive a model year update. From now on, the 1.4 Smart Hybrid, the only power source available for both models, is also available with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, both Suzuki’s can now pull more. We have the prices immediately.

Last year, Suzuki replaced the 1.0 and 1.4 Boosterjet with the 1.4 Boosterjet Smart Hybrid, a mild hybrid powertrain. The automatic transmission disappeared from the range, because the mild hybrid was only available with manual transmission. Until now, because both the Vitara and the S-Cross will also be available with automatic transmission from this year. The six-speed automatic is only available with the trim levels Select and Style. The four-wheel drive AllGrip versions also get the automatic transmission as an option. The basic level of Comfort is always linked to the manual six-speed gearbox.

The additional cost of the automatic transmission is € 1,800 for both Suzuki’s. With the automatic transmission, Vitara prices start at € 27,550 for the Select and € 28,400 for the S-Cross with the same trim level. In addition to the addition of the automatic transmission, the S-Cross and Vitara Smart Hybrid now also have a higher maximum towing weight. That has been increased from 1,300 to 1,500 kilos. Both models can be ordered immediately with automatic transmission, they will be at the dealer in March.
