Little is known about the foldable iPhone Fold, but according to this latest rumor, this iPhone will have the largest battery ever.
Foldable iPhone gets largest battery ever
Apple will probably launch the first foldable iPhone next year. There are all kinds of rumors about the design and cameras of this iPhone Fold, but not much is known yet about its possible battery life. User yeux1122 from the Korean blog Naver now says that Apple is testing a battery for the foldable iPhone, with a capacity of between 5400 and 5800 mAh. That would be the largest capacity of any iPhone to date. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 5088 mAh battery.

Higher energy efficiency
For comparison with competing foldable devices already on the market: the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a battery capacity of 5015 mAh, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4400 mAh. A March report from the same Naver user claims that Apple is focusing heavily on improving battery power efficiency and making key parts of the foldable iPhone slimmer. At the same time, battery life is said to be a major priority for the company. Separately, Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo said that the device will use high-density battery cells.
The latest report claims that Apple will ultimately opt for a capacity at the higher end of the testing range, as it has apparently done previously with the iPhone Air. The details are said to come from a supply chain source. Multiple sources agree on the key specifications of Apple’s first foldable iPhone. These include a 7.8-inch main screen when unfolded and a 5.5-inch screen on the outside. That is the consensus between Kuo and the famous Weibo user Digital Chat Station.
These are the further expectations
In addition to a large battery, the first foldable iPhone will probably also have Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID, similar to the iPad Air and iPad mini. Furthermore, we expect four cameras, consisting of one camera on the front, one camera on the inside (possibly under the screen) and two cameras on the back. The device is believed to use Apple’s second-generation C2 modem for cellular connectivity and will not come with a physical SIM slot.
If there are no unexpected delays, think Mark Gurman from Bloomberg that the iPhone Fold will be launched along with the iPhone 18 Pro models in the fall of 2026. Don’t want to miss any of this? Then sign up for our newsletter!
